Reporting to        :        HOD – Support Functions

Job Purpose

•        Ensure effective and efficient operation of the Support Functions – Logistics Division

Area of Responsibility

•        Manage all aspects of Logistics Stores, Accommodation Camp and Site movement at the mine in accordance with the Company’s 24 hour operational requirements and industry best practices.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

•        Procurement - Securing and administrating suppliers, Optimising supply chain, Auditing of procurement processes on a regular basis, taking care of Insurances and warranties, formulating and distributing daily / weekly and monthly status reports.
•        Stores and Warehousing - Optimising stock level, Operational management and administration of the warehouse, Verification of goods receipts against orders / packing lists / invoices and delivery notes, Receipts and Quality control
•        Accommodation Camp - Manage the Expatriates Accommodation Camp including the general management and administration of hygiene, maintenance, welfare, stock control and room allocation to name a few.
•        Site Movement - Plan inter-site travel, appropriate vehicle allocation, overnight stay arrangements etc. in a smooth, appropriate and effective manner.
•        Implementation and enforce Company’s logistical / financial authority levels and procedures.
•        Oversee expenditures against budget allocations.
•        Overall maintenance of administrative systems and procedures i.e. posting into financial / logistical accounting system.
•        Process and conclude claims / transactions in conjunction with Finance Department.



Qualifications and Experience

•        Graduation from an accredited college/university.
•        At least 5 years relevant experience in a logistics function, with sound understanding of working in a mining environment.
•        Technical knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post.
•        Proven ability to provide support, guidance and training to colleagues.
•        Must possess strong analytical skills.
•        Must be able to prioritise tasks and make important decisions in a dynamic work environment.
•        A track record of training and developing local staff.
•        Proven people management skills.
•        Strong communication skills.
•        Computer literate (Windows, Office).
•        A Supply Chain Management/Project Management/Operations Strategy qualification from a reputable university/institution will be preferable.
