POSITION: Camp Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Country Manager or Project Manager as appropriate.
PURPOSE: The management of your Camp to meet project targets.
SUBORDINATES: All Camp staff (Food production, Food Service, Cleaning, Laundry etc).
WORKING LIAISON WITH: Country Manager, Project Managers, Chefs & Other Department Heads
PRIMARY DUTIES:
To ensure that standards of performance with regard to the Camp sales and service are maintained, to develop operational efficiency, to ensure cost controls are in place, to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved and that project targets are met
OPERATIONAL DUTIES:
The Camp Manager will accountable and responsible for the following areas and will have the authority to fulfill his duties -
o Camp Scope of work – The Camp Manager will oversee the departments’ performance to the scope of work as defined with the client. This will be set and agreed in writing with the Country Manager or Project Manager as appropriate.

o The Camp Manager will be accountable for achieving the specified standards of performance in all areas of Camp Operations. The areas of operation may include, but are not limited to:
o Mess & Food Service management – you will be the regular ‘face’ of the company at all meal times, supervising and assisting where required
o Town Site management including rooms, cleaning, laundry. bars, restaurants, club houses and sports facilities
o Shop Management
o Directors Dining and Party Catering
o Asset Management

o The Camp Manager will be responsible for overseeing his budget to ensure he achieves the set targets. The budget will be set and agreed with the Camp


Manager on arrival at the project. The budget will be monitored through the accounting software in the Project and the Project will be audited periodically.

The Camp Manager will ensure that full cooperation is extended to these auditors and their information requests.
o Project Stock Control, Stock Levels, Stock Checking, Stock Variances & Spoilages, and Stock Ordering – The Camp Manager will oversee all aspects of the projects stock control function including spot checking stock records for accuracy. Spoilages and variances will to be accounted for. Group employees will provide assistance with stock and material control, the bulk of the orders are undertaken at group level and supplied to the unit monthly.

o Project Revenue, Invoicing & Accounts Payable Control – the Camp Manager will assist the Country Manager / Project Manager(s) to oversee all F&B invoices issued by the project, ensuring they confirm to client and company requirements and they are raised within a timely manner and are approved by the clients on site. He will also assist in collecting all payments that are issued and paid on the project site. Strictly all monies collected will be banked into a company Bank account or transferred to Head office for banking. Group employees provide assistance with monthly reconciliation’s and auditing assistance.

o Project Health & Safety – The Camp Manager will ensure that his project(s) conform to the company and clients Health & Safety & Environmental Policies. This includes ensuring that the project completes all the relevant reports, auditing and employee training as per our company policies. Company, client or external auditors will audit the Project periodically with the Project Manager. The Project Manager will be issued with a full report of each audit.

o HS&E Training- The Camp Manager will be directly involved in Employee Health, Safety & Environmental training, and will give full cooperation to Group employees conducting the training courses.

o HR – The Camp Manager will assist the Country Manager / Project Managers to oversee Human Resource Management within his project(s). He will ensure that the project delivers the project scope of work, to the agreed budget and develops his Human Resources Management accordingly. He will adhere to Human Resource Policies and Procedures and will ensure that local cultural and religious factors are taken into account for Human Resources Management.

o PR & CR – The Camp Manager is responsible for Public Relations within his project(s) and this includes client, client’s employees, client’s superiors, client’s visitors and investors and the families and people living within the project. He will be directly involved in assisting the development of Community Relations with local community projects in accordance with company policy. He will ensure that his project employees provide full cooperation to Group CR employees


o IT - The Camp Manager will assist the Country Manager / Project manager(s) to oversee the investment in IT that the company has made in his project(s) end will ensure that his subordinates follows IT policies and procedures at all times.

o The Camp Manager will carry out other duties as required by Directors, Country Manager / Project Manager(s)
