Position Purpose
The purpose of this role is to operate within a best practice framework for the SMME Market that ensures growth of the business in the target market through a comprehensive range of optimally bundled, risk and investment; fit for purpose and best in class product solutions and client services.
Location
Centurion.
Experience & Qualifications
•        Nearly qualified or qualified actuary

•        5 - 7 years relevant experience with strong analytical skills

•        Sound understanding of online marketing

•        Retirement fund, investment and risk experience in the group world
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
•        In response to the SMME strategy, plan for, implement and take joint accountability for the best practice framework in the SMME market segment.

•        Accountable for developing and implementing employee benefits solutions for direct and partner clients in the SMME market segment.

•        Accountable and responsible for product development and design, ensuring cost effective development, maintenance and delivery of best-in-class, fit for purpose and innovative products to target markets.

•        To develop effective pricing models with VNB impacts.

•        Accountable for the gathering of market intelligence pertaining to competitors, clients and products and communicating this intelligence to all stakeholders.

•        Responsible for identifying and establishing new markets.

•        Develop and implement sales and client strategies to achieve new business and growth targets of the direct product houses in the SMME market segment.

•        Develop and implement an on-line marketing strategy aimed at employers in the SMME market.

•        Collaborate with and participate in relevant segment, client and product house forums and drive specific cross selling opportunities (Direct, FAW, Large Corporate etc).

•        Identify, develop and manage alternative direct distribution opportunities to maximise brand awareness and profitability.

•        Develop, implement and monitor sales plans and report progress in accordance with the Employee Benefits sales strategy.

•        Contribute to the strategic thinking within the SMME Market segment, in particular the markets we operate in and the strategies we employ to be successful in these markets.

•        Design and drive practice excellence and appropriate compliance in the area of accountability.

•        Identify direct distribution channels and implement strategic partnerships and joint ventures where relevant.

•        Review current business practices and procedures to identify key risk and alignment to the market if appropriate.

•        Contribute to strategies and related processes to continuously grow the SMME target market.

•        Influence new business, marketing and communication processes incorporating product development and client services to improve understanding and acceptance of product mix in the market.

•        Actively participate in the research and monitoring of the industry, target market and competitors to identify opportunities and threats as well as areas for improvement in operations.

•        Establish and promote healthy vertical and horizontal business processes that ensure efficient and effective client delivery within set expectations and agreed performance standards in the area of accountability and the overall optimisation of the value chain for the SMME market segment.

•        Contribute and ensure compliance to Employee Benefits governance, relevant legislation and risk mitigation strategies.

•        Identify, monitor and manage the risk of clients terminating products in partnership with the relevant product houses.

•        In partnership with the Product House heads, manage the financial, business and other risks pertaining to the direct product houses.

•        Ensure effective financial management, control and corporate governance.

•        Take accountability for the management of business related risks.

•        Formulating and maintaining strategic relationships with clients, partners and Heads: Product Houses within the SMME Market segment.

•        Craft, implement and monitor best practice service to all stakeholders.

•        Ensure effective relationships and SLA management with internal and external stakeholders.

•        Contribute to a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service.

•        Provide a professional Marketing Actuary advisory service.

•        Participate in the design and application of a stakeholder feedback capability in respect of service delivery.

•        Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues.

•        Collaborate and work with the all stakeholders to deliver required service levels.

•        Actively participate in the SMME team to ensure functional balanced scorecard objectives are achieved.

•        Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.

•        Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.

•        Actively participate in own professional development and career path.

•        Ensure active resource planning incorporating all practices.

•        Efficiency improvement, process design and implementation: Contribution to improving the operational efficiencies within the team, incl. re-evaluation of processes and provision of recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.

•        Marketing strategy development and implementation: Develops and implements marketing strategies and programs that will strengthen the institution’s brand and maximize product profitability.

•        Environmental Research and Strategic Alignment: Identifies critical factors in the environment that will impact the organization and develops the appropriate processes, systems and practices to monitor and track the status of environmental factors in order to anticipate their implications and to guide appropriate business response.
